Book an Appointment

Appointments are required for refurbished bike sales. They are recommended for other services to guarantee time and space are available. You are welcome to come by without an appointment, you just may need to wait for help if the shops are busy.

Services we offer

  • For independent work on your bike with our tools.

    DIY has a suggested hourly rate, but is on a sliding scale. You can choose to pay a bit more or a bit less depending on ability.

    Standard recommended rates:

    • $10/hour (members) & $20/hour (non-members)
    Post-pay, charged to the nearest half hour.

    DIY Guidelines:

    • Volunteers provide very limited hands-off guidance.
    • If you require more help, we suggest DIT service.
    • Book only one DIY/DIT appointment per day; you can stay longer if space permits.
    • Do not book DIY/DIT appointments for other people under your name. Duplicate appointments will be cancelled.

  • Learn to repair your bike with our hands-on assistance.

    DIT has a suggested rate, but is on a sliding scale. You can choose to pay a bit more or a bit less depending on ability and how much assistance you receive.

    Standard recommended rates:

    $20/hour (members) & $30/hour (non-members)
    • Post-pay, charged to the nearest half hour.

    DIT Guidelines:

    • The amount of help provided varies according to your needs.
    • The goal is to learn bike repair skills so expect to be actively involved in the work.
    • Book only one DIT/DIY appointment per day; you can stay longer if space permits.
    • Do not book DIT/DIY appointments for other people under your name. Duplicate appointments will be cancelled.

  • Book this service If you want us to repair or adjust your bike.

    Rates (parts extra):
    • 15 minute service: $14 (members) / $20 (non-members)
    • 30 minute service: $28 (members) / $40 (non-members)

    We will do as much work as possible in the time booked. Additional work may be possible if space and time allow, though you will need to pay for extra time.

    The priority is on essential repairs to make your bike safe and functional, rather than large projects and overhauls.

  • If you need help finding the right part, or want to browse what we have, you can book a Parts Consultation.

    Please bring the bike or relevant part whenever possible. Alternatively, a clear photo can sometimes suffice. Certain parts are very specific and we may not be able to help you without knowing the proper context.

    Parts Consultations are free, but do not include work on your bike. Shop fees may be charged for appointments that run longer than 15 minutes, or for those requiring extensive inspections or mechanical diagnosis.

COVID PRECAUTIONS

We ask that you wear a mask in the south shop (provided at the counter).

Before you book, please note:

  • One bike per appointment (for full service).

  • Repair price does not include parts.

  • Please mention any known required parts in the booking form.

  • We do not service bikes intended for immediate resale.

  • We cannot:

    • bleed hydraulic brakes

    • install tubeless tires

    • repair suspension

    • repair electronic e-bike components

Our mechanics will complete as much work as possible in the time available. If you are unsure which option to book, please contact us, and describe the issue with your bike. Or you can book a 15-minute consultation and we will assess your bike and suggest repairs and their relative priority. Please clean your bike before bringing it in: this helps us assess it and lets us focus on repairs, which saves time and money for you.

MEMBER DISCOUNT

Bike Edmonton Members receive a 30% discount on full service repairs and $10 off DIY/DIT rates (get your coupon code by looking up your membership here, then click the ‘Discount code’ button when booking). Appointment Availability

Downtown shop appointments open seven days in advance. South shop appointments open two days in advance (due to scheduling limitations). Please check back the next day if you don’t see any availability within those times.

Cancellations

You can cancel your appointment at any time, however we will not refund those cancelled less than one hour before their start time.
