Job posting: Executive Director

Chris Chan, in consultation with the Board, would like to announce that he will be transitioning out of the role of Executive Director of Bike Edmonton over the coming months. In tandem with this announcement, the Bike Edmonton Board is recruiting a new Executive Director.

The Board acknowledges and appreciates Chris’ dedication and contributions to the Society over the years. We would not be the organization we are today without his steadfast service since joining us more than a decade ago! During his time, first as a volunteer and now as an employee, Chris has helped grow the Society from just a few hundred members to over 1,700 members, which has effectively anchored Bike Edmonton as a pillar in the community. In addition, Chris helped guide the relocation of the south community workshop, the opening of a new downtown workshop, and the shift from an entirely volunteer-run organization to one that now employs several full-time, paid staff positions. Chris looks forward to supporting a new executive director who will bring fresh ideas, energy, and skills to lead the Society into the future.

Chris will continue to act as the Society’s Executive Director during this transition period. Over the coming months, the Board will conduct a thorough search to find Bike Edmonton’s next Executive Director. It is the Board’s priority to find a dynamic leader with a true passion for our mission of making cycling accessible to everyone by providing Edmonton with bicycle services, education, and civic representation. The Board asks for your help in sharing the job posting [LinkedIn] [PDF] and identifying the best candidates who can lead Bike Edmonton through this next chapter. Upon successful recruitment of a new Executive Director, Chris will transition into a role that continues to support the Society moving forward.
